We are proud of what we give back to our community, but can't do it without the support of our special friends and their families, our police services, our schools and our sponsors. Please patronize our sponsors when you can, it's the best way that we can say Thank You for their support. We hope to see you along our journey, it's always nice to hear your friendly honk along our way!
Pedal For Hope 2007, the last KILOMETRE!
The 2007 Pedal For Hope Cycling Tour finished on Saturday, May 12 at Canadian Tire on Chemong Road. Once again, the most exciting kilometre of the nearly 1,000 ridden, was our last, with many of our "Special Friends" joining us. This year, our tour was ridden in memory of Graham "Cracker" Clarke, who lost his battle to cancer on Friday, January 26, 2007. We were overwelmed to be joined on Saturday on our ride by Graham's sister Julie and brother Kevin and at Canadian Tire by Cheryl and David, Graham's parents.
Our tour again took us through 48 awesome schools, starting at Westmount Public School and finishing at North Cavan. We visited schools in Peterborough, Lakefield, Bridgenorth, Little Britain, Cameron, Bobcaygeon, Fenelon Falls, Coboconk, Wilberforce, Apsley, Buckhorn, Youngs Point, Douro, Warsaw, Norwood, Havelock, Hastings, Campbellford, Warkworth, Brighton, Colbourne, Cobourg, Port Hope, Welcome, Baileboro, and Cavan.
We look forward to totaling our fund raising dollars and should have a community total at the beginning of June.
Thank you to all teachers, administrators, students and parents. We can't do it without you! We also would like to thank all sponsors. You are all a part of out team and a part of the Pedal For Hope! Thanks to all teammates for the dedication and pride that you have all shown on the tour. You have all given to our community and I thank you for that.
Thank you to the Administrators of our Police Services that let us do what we do, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, Ontario Provincial Police and Peterborugh Lakefield Community Police Service and finally, thank you to Constable John Townsend, once again you have gone above and beyond the tour of duty! Your efforts and dedication to some special friends in our community are always recognized.
