BATTLE IN THE SADDLE - March 19/20th, 2010
Do you have what it takes to cycle for 24hrs??
The Pedal For Hope team welcomes teams to join the 5th annual Battle In The Saddle Stationary cycling competition. This event is open to all who enjoy cycling and want to raise money for Pediatric Cancer Research.
This years event will be held at Lansdowne Place Mall. Each team has a minimum of 10 riders and their stationary bike has to be in motion for the full 24 hours. |

Divisions include:
- Elite – riding your own road bikes on spinners
- Competitive – riding upright stationary bikes
- Recreational – riding recumbent bikes
The teams will start riding at 12 noon on Friday and finish up at 12 noon Saturday. Meals and snacks to be provided by Subway, Refreshments by Rocky Ridge & Pepsi QTG, Fruit provided by Loblaws Superstore.
All teams are required to raise a minimum of $1200.00 to participate or $600.00 for high school teams with valid student ID for all riders. All money raised from this Pedal For Hope event goes to the Canadian Cancer Society for pediatric cancer research.

MIDLIFE CRISIS CONCERT IN SUPPORT OF PEDAL FOR HOPE - April 9th 2010.
The Pedal For Hope team is proud to announce that the Peterborough rock band known as 'Midlife Crisis' is holding it’s second annual fund raising concert at the Junction on Friday April 9th 2010.
Last years concert sold out days before the event and raised over $10,000 dollars for the Pedal For Hope and the Canadian cancer Society.
This concert kicks off the Pedal For Hope Tour with the team heading out on their cycling tour on the 19th. A percentage of the ticket sales will go to the Canadian Cancer Society. |

PEDAL FOR HOPE KICK OFF - April 19th, 2010 8am
Pedal For Hope kicks off its 6th annual tour on Monday April 19th 2010. The team will arrive at Shimano Canada at 8am for the media kick off. At 8:45am the team will get on their custom made Louis Garneau bikes and head out on the highway to start the first kilometer of 1000km tour spanning over 15 days.
While on their tour they will visit 48 schools in 5 different counties around Central Ontario raising money and awareness for pediatric cancer research. This is the 6th year for the team and to date they have raised over $750,000 dollars for pediatric cancer research.
Help Pedal For Hope in their “Quest For The Millionth Dollar”
All money raised goes to the Canadian Cancer Society for pediatric cancer research.

LAKEFIELD BBQ - May 1st 2010. 12pm-3pm
Once again the Lakefield Lions club and the Lakefield IGA has teamed up to hold a charity BBQ with all the proceeds being donated to Pedal For Hope. The cycling team will be riding in from the north and will arrive in Lakefield at 12pm sharp.
Please stop by the Lakefield IGA and meet the team, enjoy lunch and donate to a great cause. All money raised from the BBQ will go to the Canadian Cancer Society to be used for pediatric cancer research.

FINAL RIDE IN CELEBRATION - Saturday May 8th, 2010 - 12pm- 3pm
The Pedal For Hope team invites everyone to come down to the former Saturn dealership on Clonsilla Avenue to greet them as they arrive home from their tour. After 15 days, 54 schools, and 999 km's, the team will meet up with their Special Friends and ride the last kilometer. The team will be riding in from Milbrook and expect to meet their Special Friends in the Kawartha Heights Public School parking lot at 11am.
After a short visit the team and their Special Friends will leave and head onto Lansdowne Street where they will cycle east to Clonsilla Avenue, from there they will turn onto Clonsilla Avenue and continue until they reach the former Saturn dealership at 12 noon.
Activities include a bouncy castle for the kids, lunch courtesy of Subway, and musical entertainment courtesy of F.O.G, and of course there will be the traditional head shaves.
