Pedal for Hope Bear
The Pedal For Hope Bear has been a member of the team since 2006. He enjoys dancing, playing with beach balls, and can be found most days riding around in the back of the Pedal For Hope Trailer. He enjoys spending time with all his new friends he meets on the tour.
Scott Masters is an Auxillary Police Constable with the Peterborough Lakefield Community Police Service and a Douro/Dummer Firefighter.
I am proud to serve my community and I am an avid sports fan, love hockey. I enjoy helping others thru charity events. I joined the Pedal For Hope team in its second year and am honoured to be part of an organization that helps children.
To be part of a great team that helps put a smile on a child's face makes me proud to share in the dream, that someday cancer can and will be beaten. A little love goes a long way in the heart of a child and lets their loved ones know their not alone in this fight.
Ken is a Westerner by birth and a banker by trade. He was a retired Nuclear Security Officer at Darlington and retired in 2005. Ken moved to Peterborough for employment as a General Manager for B.E. Larkin Equipment Ltd in 1982. His wife Bonnie, is a retired Nurse and they have two children.
Ken has been a member of the Auxiliary Police in various locations and Units for 32 years. He lost a Niece to kidney disorder in 1979 and a Grandson in Feb. 2007 to Nieman's Pic type C, a very rare enzyne disorder.
Ken enjoys the fellowship and association to both young and old, in this "Pedal for Hope" venture.
Julie Levesque is a dispatcher and 911 operator with the Peterborough Lakefield Community Police. She has been employed at the police station for 5 years. She enjoys spending time at home with her husband Dan, son Chase and daughter Breanne.
In her spare time she enjoys gardening, horse back riding, watching movies with the kids and swimming. Julie joined the Pedal For Hope team intially to volunteer some spare time.
After attending the schools on tour she was amazed at the reaction from the kids. After meeting some of the children battling pediatric cancer she has realized what true hero's they are and these children are her inspiration to be part of the Pedal For Hope cycling tour.
Anita Record, Unit Manager Peterborough and District Unit Canadian Cancer Society Has been staff at Canadian Cancer Society, Peterborough and District Unit for seven years and a volunteer with the Canadian Cancer Society for over 20 years. Born lived in Peterborough forever and a day!.
Her role in Pedal for Hope is to act as first point of contact with the kids living with cancer in community and to ensure that the kids and their families are aware of Pedal for Hope. Acts as support and resource for the Pedal for Hope team and truly loves the event and being part of it.
Jo-Anne, began her policing career in 2001 with the Peterborough Lakefield Community Police Service. She loves children, and is a huge supporter of the cause of raising money for peadiatric cancer research. Jo-Anne was raised in Peterborough, Ontario and is proud to be a member of the Pedal for Hope Support Crew in her home town.
In her spare time, Jo-Anne enjoys spending time with her family and close friends. She plays various team sports throughout the year.
Jo-Anne has lost loved ones to cancer, and looks forward to the day when this disease is part of the past.
Constable Rick ALLEN has been a member of the RCMP since 1986 and has served all across Canada. Rick enjoys all types of sports and working with young children in all team sports. Rick joined the Pedal for hope team in 2006 because of his strong belief that all children desirve a second chance and that we need to beat this terrible sickness.
Rick looks forward to the ride each year and the chance top meet all the children through Peterborough and the 5 Counties as we visit schools.
